Garvey Takes Alan Butler Memorial For Hidden Valley Small Block Mods

MT. ZION, PA Bob Garvey took home the victory Saturday night at Hidden Valley Speedway, in the Alan Butler Memorial special for the Kneppy's Fireworks small block modifieds.

Leading the field of 18 mod- ifieds to the green were George Sankey and Garvey. Sankey would jump out to the early lead before being over taken on lap two by Garvey. Both Garvey and Sankey would show their strength pulling away from the field and begin- ning to lap cars on lap 6. Two late cautions would slow the

field down and bunch them up, but Garvey was to strong and went on for his first win of the season.

Also picking up victories on the night were George Fultz in the late model feature, Gary McElheny in the pure stocks, Doug Tiebens in the street stocks, and Joe Leigey in the four cylinders.

The wins were the first of the year for Garvey, Fultz, and McElheny. While Tiebens brought home his second win of the season and Leigey his third of the season.
