JOHN FLACH'S WIN LEADS TO THREE-WAY RACE FOR HIGH POINT MAN AT LEBANON VALLEY

John Flach, 77J, has been on a tear of late at the Valley with his second win in three weeks in the Modified Division. Jim Chenette, No. 5 took his second win of the season in the 320 Modified Class. Jay Terry No. 187, had a strong showing as he won the Sportsman Division. Gary Silkey, No. 75, won a close one as he took his third feature win in the Street Stock main.

Chauffeur's Training School, a company for training and safety from 12 Railroad Ave., Albany, NY sponsored their fif- th year, along with Coor's Beer, "Coor's is the One" from 8,000 Main St., Troy, NY who just came to New York State on April 1, sponsored their first night at the Valley. The Modified Main was a wild one with John Flach, No. 77J, in the American Boiler Express coming out on top. Flach took the lead on lap 19 never to relinquish it, with Eddie Marshall, No. 98, coming in second after Maynard Forrette was put back two spots after he jumped a restart. Billy Decker, No. 91, made an exciting debut at the Valley by taking the third spot on the night. Ken Tremont, No. 115, dropped out of the race on lap 7 opening the door for Mark Fluery, No. 52, who was in the second spot on lap 19 right on the bumper of Flach, but Fleury went to the pit with mechanical problems on the same lap. The win puts Flach up with the point leaders to make it a three way race for the high point championship at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Jim Chennette, No. 5, had an easy time of its after Matt Quinn, No. 31, who was in the second spot, had to go to the pit on lap 4 taking the pressure off Chenette and opening up a clear run for the win. Rich Shoppe, No. 63, who was behind Chenette, kept the second spot all the way to the checkered. Brian Kerk, No. 44, made a good move on lap 9 to take the third spot dropping Rod Fifield to fourth with Mark Hagadorn, No. 31H, rounding out the top five.

The Sportsman Class was won by Jay Terry, No. 87, as he took the lead on lap 2 and ran away with it. John St. Germain, No. 57, who brought a car from Tommy Corellis just this past week and did not have time to repait it, took second place, with Ron Constantine, No. 21A, finishing third and Eddie San Soucie, No. 13, finishing fourth.

The Street Stock Main looked like ti was all Gary Silkey, No. 75, as his amll block was cooking, but Henry Tanner, No. 90 made it a close race as he grabbed first spot on lap 8 only to lose it back to Silkey on lap 9, giving the win to Silkey. This gave Silkey his third feature win at the Valley this year.

Gary Silkey, No. 75, also won the Small Block Division giving him his tenth win this year. The Medium Block win went to Henry Tanner, No. 90, as he took the lead on lap 3 and ran away with it. John Purdy, No. 51, took the Big Block Division with a heavy smoking motor that never ran out of power. The Rookie Divisions were won by Mike Mikuiske, No. 137, out of Conn. and Bob Spinney, No. 37, out of Pittsfield, MA both won by a commanding lead.

If all this racing wasn't enough, the night ended with a wild demolition derby. 41 cars started the event, but when all the engines stopped and the smoke cleared, only Craig Miller was left taking the win.

For great racing action, don't miss next wee when Canaan

Auto Farm and Family Center sponsor another super night of
