SECOND STRAIGHT RANSOMVILLE VICTORY TO RUDOLPH

Ransomville, N.Y. Charlie Rud- olph of Ransomville, NY driving the Rudolph powerhouse 72R won this second straight feature event at Ransomville taking the lead from Fred Cado with just five laps to go. Rudolph started 18th in the feature and slowly worked his way to the front and once in command opened a safe lead turning consis- tent laps very close to the track record.

At the start of the 35 lap feature, Fred Cado out of Niagara Falls, ONT jumped into the lead from his pole starting position followed by Ivan Little. Cado was running awesome in the Troyer Ye Olde Barn LTD and him and fellow canadian Ivan Little stay'd close together and ran away from the rest of the field for the first 6 laps when the caution was thrown for Harvey Hainer, Jr. who had a wheel go flat on the main straightaway and was unable to get out of the fields way while running in the top 5.

On the restart, Cado and Little again took commanding lead and started to pull away while Rudolph was coming up through alongside of Merv Treichler and Alan Johnson. Rudolph used the high corners and the low groove to his advantage passing cars each lap but with no cautions for the remainder of the feature Rudolph play'd catch up and finally found the leaders in traffic on the 27th lap. On the 28th lap Rudolph swung high around Ivan Little and needed only one more lap to take command over Fred Cado. Little in the new combination enginespow- ered 61 used the same patent move Rudolph did and passed Cado the very next lap. Alan Johnson who followed Rudolph to the front also got by Cado with two laps to go but Rudolph and Little were long gone to the finish. Cado finished fourth with Pete Bicknell in the Castrol 42 rounding out the top 5.

Qualifying events were won by Fred Cado, Ivan Little and Alan Johnson with Davey Moore winn- ing the consolation in the Queens- way Auto sponsored 6.

In the Limited Sportsman feature it was a hearthreat for young Mike Jeffrey's who in his first few starts with the Limiteds was leading the feature event on the last lap down the backstretch when his right front tire went flat and opening day winner Lee Jerome of Ancad- ter, ONT was able to get by the young driver to record his second consecutive win. Butch Zimmer- man was third. Wayne Lawes fourth and Bob Parkhill of Youngs- town, NY rounding out the top 5. The bomber feature was won by Herb Porter of Niagara Falls, NY with Glenn Baker second and Ken Starr of Lyndonville, NY third. SUMMARY:CHARLIE
