July 12, 2024

Clearfield, PA - Adam Nixon of Woodland ended a seven year dry spell by picking up Friday nights Semi Late Feature at Hidden Valley speedway and became one of three new winners during the night. Jim Bloom of Curwensville claimed his first win of the season in Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks and Jackson Shugarts picked up his career first win in the Little’s Drive In Junior Four Cylinders.

Repeat winners include Jimmy Holden of Tiona in the Small Block Modifieds, Tim Steis of St. Mary’s in the Pure Stocks and Luke Hoffner of Turbotville in the Little’s Drive In Four Cylinders.

The ATV’s and UTV were also in action with Max Turner in the Junior ATV’s, Shane Wilson in the Modified ATV’s, Pete Martorano in the Stock ATV’s and the UTV winner was Brandan Beck in the Turbo and Garrett Singer of Everette in the UTV Non-Turbo race.

A pair of 47’s led the Semi Late feature to the green flag, with Adam Nixon beating Nate Brady off the line and taking the initial lead. Brady fell into second place with Luke Hoffner, Justin Owens and Gary Little rounding out the top five. As Nixon continued to lead the battle from second through sixth was exciting to watch, as Little was working his way towards the front, when the caution flew for a spinning Dan Gill, which ended his night. The restart saw Nixon still in the lead with Brady still in second and Hoffner trying to get around him as Little was now up to fourth behind Hoffner. Lap four saw Hoffner wrestle second away from Brady and Little did the same on lap 8. By this time, Nixon had opened up a slight lead during the battle for second, but on lap 10, Little dove under Hoffner off the fourth turn and was able to second away from him. Little then proceeded to reel in the leader, and he got to within a car length of Nixon, but Nixon was able to hold on to end his seven year drought with the win. Little was a close second, Hoffner was third, Brady held on to fourth and Nike Loffredo was fifth. Heat wins were split between Little and Gill.

Chris Luzier and Aaron Casher led the Small Block Modifieds to the start with Luzier shooting into the lead at the start and leading the first lap, before Casher was able to grab the lead on lap two. Luzier sat second with Shannon Casher in third and Hayden Holden was fourth and Craig Casher fifth. A few cautions slowed the field as Jimmy Holden was coming from seventh to the front, biding his time looking for the leader. On lap 10 J. Holden moved into second and on lap 12 he moved to the outside of Casher going into the first turn, they ran side by side down the backstretch and info three and four when Holden came out with the lead and held on to get the eventual win. Hayden Holden made his way to second, Shannon Casher was third, Luzier was fourth and Craig Casher was fifth. Hear wins went to Hayden Holden and Trent Ogden.

The Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks saw Allen Lamb and Jim Bloom on the front row, with Bloom winning the race into the first turn. While He’d lead the race flag to flag, it was the race for second that had the fans attention, as Fuzzy Fields was second and Brandon Connor was third. Connor was throwing everything he had at Fields, trying to find a way into second, but as Fields was maintaining second, he was also trying to reel in Bloom, but when Sam McClellan waved the double checkered flags, it was all Bloom, getting his first win of the season. Fields held on to second, Connor was third with Lamb fourth and Sheddy Graham III fifth. Fields was the heat winner.

Eric Lucas and Tim Steis lined up on the front row of the Pure Stock feature, with Steis taking the lead and pulling out to a short lead with Lucas in second until he lost power and dropped out on lap three. This put Tyler Rougeux in second and he tried everything he had to get Steis, but Steis had the right set up and Rougeux could not find the speed to get by. When the double checkereds flew it was Steis winning over Rougeux, Mitch Stiles, Josh Fields, who ran third most of the race trying to get by Rougeux for second and Caleb Bloom was fifth. Stiles won the heat.

Cody Baughman and Luke Hoffner were on the front row for the Little’s Drive In Four Cylinder main, with Hoffner shooting into the lead and bringing Anthony Sones into second. Ryan Lippert was a close third with Jason Elensky in fourth. The race saw a couple quick cautions at the beginning the was going well until lap 14, when Sones broke and came to a halt in turn one. The final two laps saw Lippert in second and trying desperately to reel in Hoffner, but Hoffner had the setup and was able to hold off Lippert for the win. The top five were: Hoffner, Lippert, John Brown who came from 10th, “Wild” Bill Hassenplug and Scott Robison. Heat wins were won by Hassenplug and Lippert.
