July 11, 2025
Clearfield, PA - Eric Lucas of Clearfield put an end to Tim Steis win streak in the Pure Stock feature Friday Night at Hidden Valley Speedway. Levi Picard of Woodland picked up his career first feature win in the Small Block Modified make up feature, while Repeat winners included Brad Benton of Duncansville in the Semi Late Models, Hayden Holden of Tiona in the Small Block Modifieds and William Kephart of Shilo in the Four Cylinders.
The Semi Late feature was brought to the green flag with Craig Bainey and Dan Beatty on the front row, with Bainey taking the lead and Beatty in second for the first lap, then Brad Benton worked his way into second with Beatty now third and Dan Gill in fourth. Benton was able to move into the lead on lap three and Bainey sat second, while Gill and Beatty were jockeying for third, when they made contact in turns one and two, with Gill making contact with the back stretch wall. The restart saw Benton sit through one more caution before taking his second straight win of the season. Bainey was second with Ron Laubschur third, Beatty was fourth and Gill was fifth. Benton and Justin Owens won the heats.
Hayden Holden got off the line before Shannon Casher in the Small Block Modified Feature, as the front two pulled away from third place Craig Casher who was waging his own battle with Levi Picard for third. The two battles continued from the green to the waving of Sam McClellan’s double checkered flags in the non-stop event. The official top five was Holden winning over Shannon Casher, Craig Casher, Picard and Aaron Casher. The heat was won by Shannon Casher.
The Pure Stocks saw Eric Lucas and Austin Fenton on the front row, with Lucas taking the lead Tim Steis moving into second. The top two were pulling away from Fenton to wage a great battle on the multi-groove, dust free surface. Steis was trying to take the inside away from Lucas, but Lucas was protecting the bottom when Steis got into the #8L and spun, bringing out the only caution of the race. On the restart, Steis returned to trying to move under Lucas, but Lucas was holding strong and began to pull away from the second place car. When the double checkered flags flew it was Lucas with his first win of the season over Steis, Fenton and Parker Hemphill.
The Four Cylinders were brought to McClellan's green flag with Jason Elensky on the pole and William Kephart on the outside, with Kephart taking the lead and Zach Frantz following from his fourth place starting spot to the second position. The top two had Allen Robison move into third and set up a three car race for the lead, as Elensky dropped to fourth. The top three were under a blanket with Robison using lapped traffic to his advantage to take the second spot away from Frantz. When the checkered flags waved it was Kephart getting his third win of the season over Robison, Frantz, Elensky and Josh Lindenmuth. Elensky won the heat.
The Make Up Small Block Modified feature saw Levi Picard and Craig Casher on the front row, as Picard took the lead and Casher was in second with Hayden Holden in third. While working on lap five, Holden was able to slip into second, dropping Casher to third when the only caution flew. The rest of the race saw Picard hold off Holden for his first career win. Craig Casher was third, Trent Ogden was fourth and Shannon Casher was fifth. Holden won the heat.
