LAFARGEVILLE, NY.....Mitch Gibbs and Willy Decker battled through the final 20 laps of Saturday night's 30-lap DIRT Modified feature on Denny's/Days Inn night at Caprara's Can-Am Motorsports Park, as the pair were able to hook up their 358 Modifieds on the hard and slick surface. At race's end, Gibbs had his second win of the 2005 season and Decker had his best finish of the year with a second spot. Lee Gill broke through traffic in the second half of the feature to chase the speedy front-runners but couldn't catch them and settled for third, followed by Gus Schmidt and Bob Henry.
The 20-lap Sportsman feature was a tale of two races, as Scott Webb led the first half of the event, but lost the lead to Kenny Stafford at the halfway point. Stafford motored away for the win with Billy Eisele, Lance Willix, Scott Parliament, and Jason Potter rounding out the top five.
The 20-lap IMCA Modified feature saw Jake Rabetoy and Rich Keller battle for the early lead, with Rabetoy getting the advantage as Larry Benzer moved into the second spot. One bobble on lap 12 cost Rabetoy the lead as Bezner moved past and collected the win. John Carr inched out Rabetoy for second, followed by Keller and Dale Caswell.
The 15-lap Street Stock feature event was captured by Dave Mannise, who moved into the lead at the one third mark of the event. Dana Aikens and John Eiss battled side by side for second behind Mannise, with Aikens grabbing the runnerup spot. Dave Pope and Ed Rodgers rounded out the top five.
