Danny O Brien takes second straight at Brockville at Brother's Expense

BROCKVILLE-Pat O Brien has had two wins within sight in the last five days. Unfortunately, lady luck has been absent. The Kingston driver suffered heartbreak again when a tire went soft with 6 laps remaining in the 30 lap feature on Friday night at Brockville Ontario Speedway. The good news for the O Brien clan, was that Pat's loss was Danny's gain as the sibling took over the top spot and led the rest of the race for his second straight win.

Pat made his pit stop and came back to finish an impressive 6th in the event. Danny O Brien's win in a small block brought the season series to 4-3 in favour of the big blocks. Yannick Ledoux held off a late challenge from Steve Paine to finish in the second spot, his best performance of the season with Jeff Sykes and Bryan Rogers rounding out the top five.

Jason Potter used a mid race restart to grab the top spot and went onto win his first Sportsman 20 lap feature of the season. Jason Riddell had to settle for second in front of Kees VanWinden, Pernie Banks and Randy Earl. The closest feature of the night was the 20 lap Street Stock battle. Billy Code of Perth beat Dave Austin to the finish line by half a bumper for his first victory of the year. It was a good thing too, because Code's radiator expired as he pulled into victory lane. Dana Aikins was third followed by Dave Wilgosh and Art Brown. Brad Kirkland took the 12 lap rookie feature after a good battle with Billy Woodward Jr. Bob Ray, Gerry O and Steve Smith were third through fifth respectively.

Brockville Ontario Speedway returns to action next Friday night, July 9th at 7:30 pm for a full race program including a special 40 lap Street Stock feature.
