Planck, Ladouceur and Terrence all score 3rd win of year at Cornwall
Dale Planck loves the Cornwall Motor Speedway. The Cortland, NY driver again showed why they call him the natural as he blazed through the field for his 3rd Modified feature win of the season on Sunday night.
Planck passed his teammate John Lazore just after the two third mark and blasted away from the rest of the field to win by a full straightaway over Dave Heaslip. “I just love this place, the people, the track and the way you can find bite anywhere on it,” said Planck in victory lane.
Mark Hitchcock was third followed by Kyle Jabobs and Lazore.
Joey Ladouceur also became a three time winner this year at Cornwall taking the 20 lap Pro Stock event. Ladouceur and Marc Therrien battled wheel to wheel swapping the lead back and forth, three or four times until Therrien’s car came to a stop with mechanical ills. William Adams was a distant second with Roy Delormier, AJ Peters and Steve Johnston.
Carey Terrence extended his winning streak to three in the Semi Pros. Terrence slid underneath Jack Johnston coming off turn 2 on the final lap to keep the streak alive. Ghislain Valade was third followed by Joe Woods and Dominic Gauvreau.
Stuart Mullin returned from a nasty wreck a week ago to claim the victory in the Rookie feature. Mullin survived a number of cautions for an impressive win over Ernie Cree. Don Lortie, Mathieu Aubin and Gerry O made up the rest of the top five.
The Speedway returns to action next Sunday night with the first of two appearances by the always popular Empire Super Sprints along with the Modifieds, Pro Stocks and Rookies. The green flag drops at 7 pm with the gates opening a half hour early at 5pm.
