Ladouceur captures Mr. Radiator 50 lapper at Cornwall=20

CORNWALL-Alexandria's Joey Ladouceur opened defense of his Mr. Radiator =
Pro Stock crown in style on Sunday night at Cornwall Motor Speedway. =
Ladouceur led the final 32 laps in the opening event of the series which =
includes stops at 3 other speedways as well as Cornwall.le to get in two =
of the five features scheduled.

The Modifieds ran two features on the night to make up for a rainout of =
the second of twin 20 lap features on the previous Sunday. Simon =
Marcoux was the early story, he led the first 15 laps and appeared =
headed to his first career Modified win, until a caution flag with 5 to =
go. That allowed Mark Hitchcock to close the gap and then blow by when =
the green flag dropped again leading the final 5 circuits for the =
triumph. Marcoux, settled for a best ever second followed by Leon =
Gonyo, Chris Jones and Stephane LaFrance.

The regular 30 lap Modified feature turned out to be a barnburner. =
Stephane LaFrance recovered from a mid race penalty for on track =
incident to capture his first win of 2004. The final caution of the =
race came with 2 laps to go setting up a green, white checkered finish. =
Dale Planck immeidately pounced on his opportunity grabbing second and =
getting to within half a car length of LaFrance as the two crossed the =
finish line. Rookie John Lazore picked up a strong third place showing =
followed by Mark Hitchcock and Laurent Ladouceur.

The Semi Pro's ran two features on the night as well. Carey Terrence =
took both ends of the twin bill. In the opener, he took over the lead =
from Ghislain Valade on a late race restartand cruised the rest of the =
way for the victory. Dominic Gauvreau was second in front of Claude =
Laurin using a borrowed car. Terrence went wire to wire in the nightcap =
holding off a hard charging Denis Hamel with Gauvreau finishing in =
third.

Bob Ray also captured both ends of the Rookie doubleheader. The second =
feature was shortened to 10 laps after a horrifying crash in turn 4. =
Ernie Cree making an attempt to pass for the lead rolled twice and =
cleared the fence. Cree emerged from his car under his own power. =
Andrew Russell was second in both features.

The Speedway returns to action next Sunday night with Fan Appreciation =
and Driver Autograph Night with a full race program featuring all four =
divisions in action. The green flag drops at 7 pm.
