JASHEMBOWSKI HOLDS OFF McKEE

Middletown, NY: Frank Jashembowski of Otisville, NY claimed the win in the Team WIRTGEN: Racing Against Cancer 30 lap Modified Feature at the Orange County Fair Speedway Saturday night. Jashembowski became the 7th winner in 7 races this season.

After starting 10th in the field, Jashembowski took the lead on lap 15 and then had to fend off defending champion Chuck McKee. It was Jashembowski's 10th career win and the first since May of last year. Defending 358 champion Tim Hindley was 3rd followed by current point leader Jeff Heotzler, and Butch Tittle.

There have been no repeat winners in the DIRT Sportsman as Jamie Yannone of Newburgh, NY won his first ever 20 lap main event. Starting 5th, the second year driver took the lead on a lap 3 restart and won in commanding fashion over Rick Mill, Eddie Walters, Brian Ford, and Neil Harris.

The 20 lap Expert Pro Stock feature went to Jamie McGannon of Pomona, NY for his first win this season and his 3rd in the division. Jim Hajkowski of Patterson, NY, running his first season in the rookie class, took the 18 lap feature for his first win at the Speedway.

The first event in the 48 State Synthetic Lube and Filter Summer Series for the Pure Stocks went to Shawn Maher of Wurtsboro, NY. It was Maher's first win of the season and the 5th of his career.

There will be no racing on Saturday night, July 5th. Racing returns on Thursday night, July 10th at 7pm as the Turning Stone Casino & Resort Super DIRT Series for the 358 Modifieds makes its annual stop. They will be joined by the Pro Stocks. The next regular Saturday night program comes up on July 12th with a regular show of Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
