DODD WINS FIRST IN FIVE YEARS

Middletown, NY: It's been nearly five years between wins for Steve Dodd of Middletown, NY but he made his second trip to Modified victory lane Saturday night at the Orange County Fair speedway. Dodd stalked race leader Tommy Meier in the 30 lap J&J Auto Maintenance feature from lap 14 until he made the winning pass on lap 21. Dodd then pulled away for the convincing win as Meier held on for second over Gary Edwards, Jr. Jeff Heotzler took over the point lead for the first time this season finishing 4th as Frank Jashembowski completed the top five.

Joe Dunay of Vernon, NJ won his first 20 Lap DIRT Sportsman feature of the season finishing in front of rookie Mike Ruggerio. Mike Kolka, Neil Harris, and Alan Sturhann were next in line.

Bob McGannon of Garnerville, NY claimed his 2nd 20 lap Expert Pro Stock feature of the season and took over the point lead in the process. The 18 lap Rookie event went to Dan Kelleher of Carmel, NY for his 3rd win of the season.

Al D'Antonio of Highland Lakes, NJ continues to pace the Pure Stocks as he took his 4th win of the campaign.

The second event in the Chet's Garage Demo Derby Series found Craig Westerfeld of Fleischmans, NY taking the win and the point lead. Racing returns Saturday night with a regular program of Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks starting at 6:30 pm.
