HIGBIE HANGS ON OVER DJ

Middletown, NY: It took a mistake free drive by Jerry Higbie of Slate Hill, NY before he won the Dig Safely NY 30 lap big block feature at the Orange County Fair Speedway Saturday night. Higbie, who became the 5th different modified winner this season, held off Danny Johnson in the closing laps to record his 7th career feature here. Defending champion Chuck McKee was third followed by outside pole sitter Scott Flammer and last week's winner Chris Shultz.

The DIRT Sportsman ran twin features for the first time as Dave Fellman of Port Jervis, NY captured his 3rd career win in the Torrisi's Agway 15 lap event. The 2nd feature went to former OCFS DIRT Sportsman champion Stan Jablonka. Jablonka became the 6th winner in 6 races in the division and picked up his 12th career checkered flag and his first since 1997. Jamie McGannon of Pomona, NY won his first Expert Class feature while Clark Bradford of Greenville, NY took the 12 lap Rookie class feature. It was Bradford's first of the year and 8th of his career. Ron Irvin of Hyde Park, NY captured his 3rd Pure Stock feature of the season and the 9th all time.

This Saturday night finds the first Demo Derby of the season as the Chet's Garage Demo Derby Series gets underway. A regular card of Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks will also be in action beginning at 6:30 pm.
