RICH VINSON, STEWART FRIESEN, PETE STEFANSKI, AND DIGGER LESTER COLLECT WINS AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY

Rich Vinson

Ransomville, NY...Rich Vinson of Sanborn, NY topped the Mighty Taco Modified field on Bobcat of Buffalo night at Ransomville Speedway last Friday night. Vinson took the lead away from rookie Rob Pietz early on in the event and held off persistent challenges by Pietz for the big win. Robbie Krull made a great late race run as he took over the runner up spot in the final laps.

Pietz led the first lap followed by Brian Stevens, Pete Cosco, Rich Vinson, and Scott Wood. The first caution flew on lap two as Mark Golding spun in turn two. Pietz led the way for the restart while Vinson moved into second. Vinson moved in on leader Pietz on lap eleven and took over the lead spot at the stripe. The caution flew at the half way point for Billy Krull who came to rest in Kinsers Way. Vinson led the way on the restart with Pietz and Stevens in tow. Vinson slipped high on lap eighteen allowing Pietz by for the lead. Vinson battled back and retook the lead on lap nineteen as these two put on a great show for the fans. Vinson would hold on through the final circuits for the win followed by Robbie Krull, Pietz, Cosco, and Ricky Richner.

Stewart Friesen

Stewart Friesen of Niagara on the Lake, Ont captured the win in dominating style last Friday night aboard the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Friesen took the lead away from Dave Just just prior to half way and held it through the final circuits.

Tony Purgarich took the lead at the features start followed by Dave Just, Stewart Friesen, Bill Willard, and Kevin Wills. The top three pulled away from the remainder of the field as Wills spun in turn four and collected Scott George on lap six. Purgarich led the way on the restart but it was Just taking over the top spot on the high side. Friesen followed suit taking over second while Purgarich, Willard, and Mark Schulz rounded out the top five. Friesen took a look to the bottom side of Just on lap twelve and took over the lead position. Just battled back but to no avail as Friesen led the remaining laps to the checkered. Just, Scott Kerwin, Purgarich, and Mark Potter rounded out the top five.

Pete Stefanski

Pete Stefanski of Wheatfield, NY turned his season around last Friday night as he picked up the win in the Bobcat of Buffalo ProStock feature main. Stefanski was piloting the borrowed car of John Koeppen's as he blew his power plant a couple of weeks back.

Lewis took the lead at the drop of the green followed by Dave Schulz, Stefanski, Mike Williams, and Chrysler. Stefanski was on the move early as he took over the top spot. Stefanski pulled away to a comfortable lead while Lewis and Schulz battled for the runner up position. The event went clean and green through the half way point as Schulz once again moved to the low side of Lewis. Lewis was able to hold on as the caution flew on lap twelve for Scott Gribben who spun in turn two. Stefanski led the way on the restart and maintained the top spot. Tight racing for the top five positions resulted in contact in turn two. Involved in the altercation was Schulz, Steve Devos, Williams, and Dan Shoop. Stefanski led the field on the restart and continued to lead the way through the checkered. Chrysler, Steve Miller, Lewis, and Nick Micalef rounded out the top five.

Digger Lester

Digger Lester of Ransomville, NY topped the twenty-one car strong Clarks Burgerhouse Streetstock fifteen lap feature main event last Friday night. Lester took the lead at the drop of the green and held it for all fifteen laps for the big win.

Lester led the field to the green followed closely by Dave Stolzenburg, John Dietz, Dave Nichols, and Eric Ben. Contact between Nichols, Ben, and Jaren Israel resulted in Nichols coming to a stop in turn one with mechanical woes bringing out the caution. During this caution, Dietz began smoking heavily and headed pitside. Lester chose the outside lane for the restart and maintained the top spot. Trouble for second place runner as Stolzenburg headed pitside on lap seven with a flat tire. Israel, Ben, Wayne Close, and Roger Israel rounded out the top five at half way however Ben's great run would be cut short as he spun in turn two. Lester would hold on through a couple of additional cautions for his first win of the season. Roger Israel, Close, Joe Rickard, and Alex Morris rounded out the top five.
