RANSOMVILLE, NY...Todd Burley of Spencerport, NY captured his first feature win of the season at Ransomville last Friday night aboard the Sports Depot sponsored event and also earned a guaranteed spot for the WNY 358 Modified Shoot-out at Little Valley on September 9th. Looking to turn his season around at Ransomville, Burley did just that in dominating style as he collected the checkered a full straight away ahead of the remainder of the field.

Burley took the early lead catastrophy struck mid pack when cars came together and set off a series of spins. Involved were Don Spatarico, Ron Smoker, Todd Gordon, Pete Bicknell, Ed Carley, Scott Harris, Danny Johnson, Billy Krull, and Jay Clause who suffered the most damage ending his night. The restart found Burley maintain the lead over Mark Sylvies, Dan Habuda, Tim Murdock, and Dan Miller.

Opening up a big lead, Burley continued to put real estate between himself and the remainder of the field as six time feature winner Danny Johnson broke into the top five. Burley held a full straight away lead in his New England Race Fuels sponsored 89B at half way. Wood took over the second position for a couple of circuits before Johnson moved in to challenge on the top side. As the two battled side by side, contact was made in turn three resulting in Wood and Johnson up against the guardrail. After some pleasantries were exchanged, Johnson rejoined the field while Wood was towed pitside.

Burley would maintain his advantage on the restart and continue to show the way to the checkered. Ricky Richner posted his best finish of the season in second followed by another consistent run in third for Vic Coffey. Tim Murdock finished in fourth followed by Mark Sylvies while Johnson rebounded in the closing stages to post sixth. Heat winners were Rich Vinson, Murdock, and Burley.

John Hagerman took the lead at the drop of the green aboard the 20 lap Sports Depot Sportsman event followed by Dave Just, Jeff McGinnis, Todd Adamczak, and Tony Purgarich. Contact was made when Chad Brachmann attempted to pass Scott George coming out of turn four resulting in George spinning into the front stretch moat collecting Kevin Wills, Dan Lacey, James Strassburg, Randy Chrysler in the process. Everyone was able to continue on.

The restart found Hagerman continue to lead. Don Martin and Brachmann were charging into the top three as they pressured Hagerman for the top spot. Hagerman bobbled in turn two allowing Brachmann by for the lead. Disaster struck for Hagerman and Martin as they had no where to go when Dickie Blake spun in turn three. Tough break as both were relegated to the rear of the field.

The restart found Brachmann set the pace and maintain the lead over Just, McGinnis, Bob Winters, and Mark Potter. Stewart Friesen broke into the top five on lap fifteen and quickly moved in on Winters for fourth. McGinnis lost the handle in turn three collecting Friesen and Potter. Tough night as caution after caution plagued the Sportsman feature event. Brachmann would maintain the lead to the checkered picking up his fourth win. Just, Winters, McKie, and George rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Just, Purgarich, and Hagerman.

Eric Greenlief led the early stages of the 20 lap Sports Depot Prostock feature followed by Dave Williams, Roger Chrysler, Steve Miller, and Jason Boyle. Contact between Bowman and Chrysler sent Chryser spinning in turn two and Bowman being sent tail.

The restart found Miller taking the lead on the lowside looking for his first win. Points leader Stefanski looked to play spoiler for Miller as he pulled into second to challenge for the lead. Steve Lewis and Mark Schulz broke into the top five with six laps remaining while Miller bobbled in turn two allowing Stefanski by for the lead. Stefanski quickly distanced himself from the remainder of the field to collect his fourth win. Rounding out the top five were Lewis, Miller, Greenlief, and Boyle. Heat winners were Boyle, Kramp, and Martin.

Derek Smith took the early lead in the first Sports Depot Streetstock feature event. Fresh off a feature win, Jerry Condren was hard on the charge as he took over the second position from Eric Ben on lap four.
