June 22, 2001

Hartford(OH) - With gloomy skies overhead Sharon Speedway opened her grand old

gates for the 6th night of racing despite mother natures best attempts to

show her might. Picking up his first feature win in the Sunburst

Environmental Services Sprints was Brad Ellenberger. The Gibson-Governor

Modifieds captured by three time winner Lou Blaney. Russ Dunn showing the way

in the Coy Bros. Trucking E-Mods for the second time this season. The 007 of

Dwayne Clay notched his fourth win for the Burghill Auto Salvage Stock Cars.

Stopping in on his way to Florence Ky. to race with the All Star Sprints

Brad Ellenberger took the point at the drop of the green to lead for the

entire 20 lap sprint car feature. The big surprise of the evening was the 53

of C.W. Harshman who for the first 12 was all over Ellenberger rear bumper

only to brush the turn 2 wall resulting in a red flag. Harshman escaped

injury. Marty Ling then took up the challenge only to fall short for the

second time in the brides maid position. Rounding out the top five was Gary

Edwards, Jarod Larson, and Leonard Ripper. Heats went to Ling and Edwards.

Leading the Gibson-Governor Modifieds to the green was the 17 of John

Braymer who assumed the lead at the drop of the flag holding on for 7 laps

surviving 2 cautions. By the eight lap Hartfords own Lou Blaney moved passed

Braymer in turns 3 and 4 going on to mark up his third win in a row. The race

for second then fell between Braymer and Harold Michaels with Michaels

garnering second by lap 18, Braymer finished third with Jim Racey fourth and

Kevin Hoffman topping the top five. Heat winners where, Dave Schrader and

Blaney.

The caution riddled Coy Bros. Trucking E-Mods went for the first nine

circuits under green with Jimmy White leading for the first 5 laps when Jeff

Sharp grabbed the lead for a lap when eventual second time winner Dunn

wrestled it away from him. Sharp who held the second position for two laps

only the spin bringing out the caution. Eight place starter Bob McCann moved

into the second spot on lap 13. White brought home the third position,

Rudrick fourth and Shawn Domhoff sliding into fifth. Heats going to Sharp and

Jeff Johnson.

The evenly matched Burghill Auto Salvage Stock Cars raced bumber to bumber

and side by side for the entire 15 lap feature. Ray Yuran leading the way for

the first lap when Tom Miller overtook Yuran holding on to the point until

lap 12 when the 44r of Gary Robinson coming from his seventh hole to take the

lead for two laps when Robinson tagged a lap car in turns 3 and 4 resulting

in a spin on the white flag lap allowing tenth place starter Clay to go on

for his fourth win with Bobby Whitling a very close second as T. Miller

settled for third, Gary Miller fourth and Dave Ferringer showing in the fifth

place. Heats winners Russ Kapalan and Steve D'Apolito.

Jim Pace Performance Parts Dash winner Glay.
