ADD CHRISTMANN TO OCFS MODIFIED WIN LIST

MIDDLETOWN, NY..6/28/97...On Saturday night at the Orange County Fair Speedway, Bud Christmann of West Milford, NJ became the tenth different driver in ten races this season to capture a modified feature. Starting on the outside pole, Christmann put the Brioschi sponsored #18 out front and never looked back as he recorded his first ever big block win in the Torrisi Produce 30 lap main event.

Finishing second was first year driver Gary Edwards Jr followed by Danny Johnson who garnered third in the final yards to the checkered flag over Bill Cherry. Jeff Heotzler claimed 5th and fell two points behind Johnson in their two man battle for the point title.

The 15 lap Cedar Ridge Trailer Sales Dirt Sportsman main event went to Tom Foley of Midland Park, NJ for his 2nd win of the season. Foley, starting on the outside of the front row, took the top spot exiting turn two after a lap two restart and then held off Bill Green for his third career win. Jeff Richardson and Bill Kukelka both moved into the top five in points by finishing 3rd and 4th. Mark Hufcut filled the fifth slot.

In what may have been the wildest Novice Street Stock finished ever, John Bryson of Croton Falls, NY, running 4th on the final lap, emerged from a turn 4 melee involving all of the front runners to claim his first win of the season. The final lap began with the top three running three wide to take the white flag and none were in the top five at the finish. Don Pomarico of Beacon, NY solidfied his spot atop the Rookie class point standings with his 4th checkered flag of the campaign.
