CRAIG VON DOHREN GRABS FIRST SMALL-BLOCK MODIFIED WIN SINCE 1991 AT EAST WINDSOR SPEEDWAY FRIDAY NIGHT

EAST WINDSOR, N.J. ~ Craig Von Dohren made his recent return to East Windsor Speedway Modified stock car racing complete Friday night as he won the headlined 25-lap main event for the Small-Block Modified stock cars. It was the popular Barto, Pa. resident's first win at the speedway since 1991 and the 14th EWS win of his career.

Von Dohren started 18th on the 24 car grid and began his charge to the front while Art Taylor and Mike Franz swapped the lead. Point leader Kenny Brightbill of Sinking Springs, Pa. was also charging from the back and grabbed the top spot by lapseven. Brightbill's hopes for a win faded on lap 15, however, when he pitted to change a flat tire. That handed the lead to Von Dohren who was forced to hold off several attempts at a pass by eventual runner-up Doug Hoffman of Allentown, Pa. Lawrenceville's Wade Hendrickson was third, while Jimmy Horton of Neshanic Station was fourth and Brightbill

recovered for fifth.

Defending champ and Street Stock point leader Dave Brymer of Titusville is on a high as he won his seventh 15-lapper of the year. Several drivers swapped the lead before Brymer passed Lee Miller with two laps remaining. Somerset's Wayne Hansen, Miller, Yardville racer Mark Rinalli and Cranbury's Al Cheney completed the top five.

Rich Scagliotta of Bound Brook tasted his first ever East Windsor victory in the 15-lap Sportsman nightcap. Scagliotta took command on lap two and survived several challenges for the win. Point leader Brian Godown of Ringoes, Flemington's John Oliver, Gary Hager of Stewartsville and Pittstown's John Stevens wrapped up the top five.
