Larson Mid-Season Championship Winner

HARTFORD, OH - Jarod Larson won the Sprint Car feature and Ron Smoker topped the big-block Modified main during last Saturday night's Mid-Season Championship program at Sharon Speedway.

Larson dominated the 25-lap Sprint Car event, leading from flag-to-flag after starting from the pole position. He built up a hefty early advantage in Mark Thomas's No. 47 that held to the finish.

Ed Lynch Jr., who started 12th, slid into sec ond on lap 15, but he finished there after his bid to catch Larson was thwarted by lapped traffic.

Hamburg, N.Y.'s Smoker also benefited from a pole starting spot to lead the 25-lap big-block Mod main from start-to-finish.

A lap-24 caution flag put Mark Flick on Smoker's rear bumper, but Flick couldn't stop the DIRT veteran from recording his fourth vic tory of the season. Flick settled for runner-up money.

In other action, Dave Hess Jr. captured the E Modified feature with a last-turn pass of Alan Dellinger and Dan Lewis recorded his third Pure Stock victory of the season.

Other winners were Dave Hess Jr. in the E Mods and Dan Lewis in the Pure Stocks.
