Redline Results For May 12th.

Redline once again played host to a packed house Friday evening May 12. After the qualifying heats were completed the feature portion of the evening began and the Redline faithful were treated to a very good night of exciting racing action.

The Street Stock division took to the 3/8 red clay racing oval first. Eddie Sites from Monroeton, Pa., had won two weeks in a row and was looking for a third. Newcomer Joe Reeves from Geneoa, NY., had something to say about that. Reeves took the lead early as the 15 of Sites and the 83 of Ed Mckernan battled for second. Sites and McKernan made slight contact and McKernan suffered a right rear flat. With just a couple of laps remaining Reeves was able to hold on and take the victory with Sites not too far behind. Eric Matthews finished third in his number 11 from Trout Run, Pa., and Mckernan managed to hold on to forth place even with a right rear flat.

The Pure Stocks were next to take on the clay oval. Terry Potrzebowski, from Elmira, NY., started deep in the field. The number 72 picked his way through the pack and took the win. Ray Hyer last weeks feature winner from Campbell, NY., finished second, and the 3 machine of Shannon Oswald, from Mt. Lake, Pa., crossed the stripe in third.

The Mini Stocks were up next. defending Mini Stock Champion Doug Colton started sixth on the grid. His father Larry Colton starting fifth tried to catch the younger Colton throughout the feature. The younger Colton, Doug in his 36x from Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., took the win and finishing behind him was Larry Colton in his 36 from Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. Crossing the finish line in third was the 14 of Eric Ellsworth from Troy, Pa.

The Big Block/Small Block Modifieds were on deck next. Shawn Reimert from Oley, Pa., in his 55s was looking for his first victory of 2006. Reimert started eighth and defending champion Mike Schane from Lake Ariel, Pa., in his M16 started seventh. Schane and Reimert patiently worked through the field and quickly found themselves running 1 and 2. Then a caution came out, one of 4 in the feature and let the field close up behind the front two who had until this point built up a substantial lead from the rest of the pack. The front two drove away again and it was looking like Schane was waiting for a last lap try at the lead. With two laps to go Schane tried to swing to the outside of the 55s of Reimert but Reimert was able to hold off the M16 to the checkers. Chuck Kennison of Watkins Glenn, NY., in his 9x took third.

Next to attack the raceway were the Nationally Sanctioned I.M.C.A. Modifieds. Larry Robbins last weeks feature winner wanted to keep his winning streak alive. The drop of the green Robbins from Knoxville, Pa., in his X factor machine worked his way to the front. Defending I.M.C.A. Modified Champion Sean Lias worked up to second and tried to catch the X factor machine of Robbins. Robbins had his car dialed in for the second consecutive week and drove off to the win. Sean Lias in his 37 took second. The 11k of Mark Griffin from Canton, Pa., crossed the stripe in third.
