ACCORD, NY (July 7, 2000) —A Rick Mill finally made it to victory lane in the DIRT 358-Modified division at the Accord Speedway. Mill, who started in the number one position, maintained his lead ahead of Doug Tyler Jr. and Randy Dymond's challenges for the top seat. Dymond had a very strong hold on second place, but a late charge from Rich Ricci Jr. squashed his bid for runner up. With just two laps to go, Lem Atkins spun collecting Henry Sherman. It was a green-white-checkered finish with Mill the victor, Ricci Jr. second, Dymond third, Mike Ricci fourth and Doug Tyler Jr. fifth.
A new feature winner for the season in the Sportsman division, Mike VanPelt was able to take over on lap seven of the 20-lap event and was able to hold off Billy Deckelman's bid for a first win of the season. Jimmy Johnson and Jim Winchell were hot on their trail but were unable to take over. At the checker, it was VanPelt, Deckelman, Johnson, Winchell and Tom DeMarmels.
Street Stock action saw Tom Dembeck in the winner's circle. Dembeck, coming up from the 6th starting spot, took over on lap 5 with Rich Dymond in line for a takeover. However, a flat took Dymond out for the remainder of the race. Kenny Moulton Jr. was able to take over for Dymond keeping ahead of Ray See Jr. and Bill Liese. At the drop of the flag, it was Dembeck, Moulton Jr. second, See Jr. third, Liese fourth and George Christiana rounded out the top five.
Scott Kilmer returned to victory lane in the Strictly Stock division over Bobby Brown and Scott Hornbeck.
