Matt Sheppard races to Short Track Super Series Elite victory at Port Royal Speedway
Matt Sheppard won the 75 lap Short Track Super Series Elite Speed Showcase 75 at the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday. This was Matt's fortieth win of the season, first at Port Royal Speedway this year, and third Short Track Super Series Elite win of the season. For the 40 year old Sheppard it was their second win putting him first on the Port Royal Speedway win list since 2000. Finishing 0.3740 seconds behind in second was Stewart Friesen. This was Stewart's thirty-ninth Top 5 of the season, first at Port Royal Speedway this year, and second Short Track Super Series Elite Top 5 of the season. Finishing third was Jimmy Phelps, their twenty-fifth top 5 of the year. Finishing fourth was Anthony Perrego, their thirty-third top 5 of the year. Finishing fifth was Alex Yankowski, their Twentieth top 5 of the year. Ryan Godown, Matt Stangle, Alan Johnson, Tyler Dippel, and Mat Williamson rounded out the top 10.
