Mat Williamson Captures Volusia Speedway Park Victory

Mat Williamson of St. Catherines, ONT picked up the win in the DIRTcar Nationals DIRTcar Nationals Night 2 at Volusia Speedway Park. mixing it up early from sixth, Williamson emerged with the victory. adding $5,000 to their bank account.

Chasing the leader to the line was Larry Wight of Phoenix, NY, who finished as the runner-up, crossing the line 0.5160 seconds behind the leader. Third place went to Alex Payne of Canandaigua, NY. The top five was rounded out by Justin Haers of Phelps, NY and Jimmy Phelps of Baldwinsville, NY.

The drive of the night went to Erick Rudolph, who plus'd 19 spots. After Jimmy Phelps set the quick time (16.828 seconds), the field was led to the green by pole sitter Bobby Varin. Jimmy Phelps rolled off from the outside of the front row. Mat Williamson set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 18.675 seconds. Erick Rudolph, Bobby Varin, Felix Roy, Peter Britten, and Alex Yankowski also earned top 10 finishes.
