FULLER CLAIMS FIRST DIRT MODIFIED FEATURE WIN SINCE 1999 ON PICK-N-PULL AUTO PARTS NIGHT
BREWERTON, NY…Tim Fuller returned to the Brewerton Speedway winners’ circle for the first time since the 1999 season last Friday night. Fuller claimed the win in the caution free 35-lap DIRT Modified feature on Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts Night. The Edwards, N.Y. driver earned $1,700 for the victory in the B&F General Machine DIRT Modified.
Mike Hulsizer raced out to the early lead at the start of the Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts DIRT Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Hulsizer would lead the opening four laps of the main event. Young Frankie Caprara took the top spot away from Hulsizer on lap five. With five laps complete Caprara was followed in the top five by Hulsizer, Fuller, Chuck Bower and Pat Ward.
Fuller took the lead away from Caprara on lap six. With ten laps complete Fuller was being followed in the top five by Caprara, Bower, Ward and Chuck Hebing. With the race staying under green flag conditions Fuller encountered lapped traffic but was able to keep his lead. At the halfway point he was followed in the top five by Bower, Caprara, Tim McCreadie and Ward.
In the final half of the caution free race Fuller was slowed on a couple of occasions by lapped cars, but he was always able to hold on to the top spot. Fuller went on to the victory in the event that took only nine minutes and 15 seconds. Bower, McCreadie, Billy Decker and Alan Johnson completed the top five feature finishers. Johnson had to settle for a fifth place finish after five straight victories.
Dan Williams won his first ever Dwarf Car feature race last Friday night. Scott Nash, Jeff Isabell, Darren Forbes and Ken Gamlen followed Williams across the finish line in the caution free race. Williams took the lead away from Gamlen on lap 18 of the 20-lap event.
Roger West Sr. won his second straight Four Cylinder Stock feature race last Friday night. Chuck Powelczyk, Tim Koch, Harvey Calkins Jr. and John West chased Roger West across the finish line in another caution free race. Roger West took the lead away from Koch on lap 10 and led the rest of the way in the 15-lap affair.
Three feature races for the Ladies concluded the evening last Friday night. Michelle Ackley, Shelly Gamlen and Karen Finch were the winners.
