FULLER WINS LEAF RACEWEAR 100 IN FRONT OF RECORD CROWD
BREWERTON, NY….Tim Fuller claimed the win in the Leaf Racewear 100-lap Turning Stone Casino 358 Modified Super DIRT Series race at Brewerton Speedway Thursday night. Fuller’s victory came in front of the largest crowd in Brewerton Speedway history. The driver of the B&F General Machine DIRT 358 Modified earned $4,000 for the season ending win at the D-shaped DIRT Demon.
Steve Paine jumped out to the early lead at the start of the Leaf Racewear 100 from the pole starting position. Paine would lead the first six circuits in the 34-car starting field. Fuller took the top spot away from Paine on lap seven. What followed were about 40 laps of the lead changing hands between Paine and Fuller. Alan Johnson came into the mix and the top three were putting on quite a show.
Fuller was the official race leader from laps 7-23. Paine regained the top spot on lap 24. Fuller was the leader again on laps 25-36. Paine led the field again on lap 37 for one circuit. Fuller regained the lead on lap 38 and held it until lap 49. Alan Johnson was the race leader at the halfway point. But, that was the only lap that he would lead. Fuller took the lead back on lap 51 and would never give it up.
Alan Johnson had to settle for a second place finish. Chad Brachmann had a strong run and finished third. Todd Burley and Frank Cozze completed the top five feature finishers. Cozze recovered from an early race spin to do so. Brett Hearn, Stewart Friesen, Dale Planck, Danny Johnson and Jeff Rudalavage finished in positions sixth through tenth respectively. Jimmy Phelps finished in the 11th position, the final car in the lead lap.
Sean Lias earned the victory in the 20-lap IMCA Modified special Thursday night. Lias pocketed $400 for his efforts. Mike Stolarczyk, Bill Anderson Jr., Justin Mason and Ron Root completed the top five feature finishers. Stolarczyk gave Lias a strong run, but the multi-time Brewerton Speedway feature winner never made a mistake.
