The Fab Four win again at Brockville

BROCKVILLE-They are Brockville Ontario Speedway’s version of the Beatles. The Fab four of Lee Gill, Randy Gaudet, Randy Earl and Kees VanWinden kept their dream seasons going with feature wins on Friday night.

Defending Track Champ Lee Gill picked up his fourth straight victory and 6th of the year in the 30 lap Modified feature. The event was caution filled including a 8 car crash on a lap 8 restart that left only Gil Evoy on the track at one point. All but a couple of cars took advantage of the red flag to make repairs and get their cars back into action. Gill picked up the lead on lap 9 and opened up almost a half lap lead when the checkered flag dropped. Todd Stewart put in his best run of the year to finish in second spot followed by Mark Hitchcock, Brian MacDonald and Chico Dingwall.

Randy Gaudet victory number 8 in the 20 lap Sportsman event. Teenager Kyle Wilson quickly moved to the front of the field and opened up a half straightaway advantage before the first caution flag of the event. Wilson would continue to hold the advantage until lap 18 when Gaudet slid past on the inside to take the lead and the victory. Wilson was second with Lance Willix nipping at his heels in third. Adam Moore and Pernie Banks rounded out the top 5.

Randy Earl was a winner for the 8th time this year in the Pro Stock class. It wasn’t easy as he went through the field twice to do it. Earl started in the 6th spot and took the lead for the first time on lap 4. He was hit from behind bringing out a caution. Earl quickly worked his way through the pack of cars for a second time in just 4 laps and took the win over Mitchell Jock and Denis Gauvreau. Todd Raabe and DJ Smith rounded out the fast five.

Kees Van Winden continues to show the way in the Rookie class. Van Winden held off a determined Roch Aubin this time. Aubin led early and then challenged late but couldnt beat the Audi number 23. Danielle Legault was third in front of Chris Tremblay and Don Hall. The fab four just keep on winning. No word if Randy, Kees, Lee and Randy are thinking of starting their own band.

The 15 lap Novice event brought the closest finish of the night with three cars coming across the finish line within a bumper and a half. John Simmons who led most of the way got the win over John Mulder with brother Earl Simmons third. Mulder got by John in turn 3 of the final lap but went high in turn 4 allowing Simmons to slide back by at the checkered with Earl right there trying for the win from third spot. Roger Bushey and Barry Baker were fourth and fifth respectively
