FULLER EDGES RUDALAVAGE FOR THIRD DIRT 358 MODIFIED FEATURE WIN OF THE SEASON ON TERRELL'S POTATO CHIPS NIGHT
FULTON, NY...Tim Fuller held off Jeff Rudalavage to claim his third Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified feature win of the season last Saturday on Terrell's Potato Chips Night. It was the second straight victory for the Edwards, N.Y. driver and his third feature win in the last four events. The victory for the driver of the B&F General Machine DIRT 358 Modified was worth $1,500.
Jim Witko raced out to the early lead at the start of the Terrell's Potato Chips DIRT 358 Modified feature from the pole starting position. Witko would lead the opening four circuits of the main event. Justin Haers took the top spot away from Witko on lap five. Haers came charging from the eighth starting position in search of his second win of the season at the Home of the Dynomax Victoria 200.
With 10 laps complete Haers continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by Craig Terrell, Fuller, Jimmy Phelps and Jeff Rudalavage. Fuller moved into second on lap 11 and quickly started to put the pressure on Haers. Haers continued to hold off Fuller until his car lost power on lap 14. Fuller inherited the lead at this point with Phelps, Terrell, Rudalavage and Dale Planck following in the top five.
Rudalavage moved into the second position on lap 16. Throughout the remainder of the race he was able to stay with Fuller, but was never able to slip past. Fuller went on for the win with Rudalavage settling for second. Craig Terrell had his career best DIRT 358 Modified finish with a strong third place effort. Planck maintained his point lead with a fourth place finish while Alan Johnson came from the rear of the field to finish fifth.
Tim Sears returned to the winners circle at the conclusion of the 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. Eric Richardson, Walt McArdell, Tom Juhl and Mike Button crossed the finish line in positions second through fifth respectively. Sears took the top spot away from McArdell on lap 14 and led the rest of the distance.
Jason Rood won his second Fulton Speedway DIRT Pro Stock feature race of the season last Saturday night. Ray Maloney, John Pietrowicz, Jeremy Clark and Paul Stoneburg completed the top five feature finishers in the 20-car field behind Rood. On lap 14 Rood took the top spot away from Maloney and he would lead the rest of the 20-lap distance.
Phil Marsden won yet another Pure Stock feature race last Saturday night. Russ Marsden, Todd Storace, Rob Whipple and Mark Davison completed the top five feature finishers. Phil Marsden took the lead away from Russ Marsden on lap 13 and was able to hold on for the victory in the 15-lap event.
Kim Cunningham claimed the win in the Ladies Race for the Pure Stock class. Jill Ray was the winner of the Pro Stock Ladies Race.
Action will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinder Enduro racers all in action.
